How Much Longer Can The EuroMillions Jackpot Roll?

The EuroMillions jackpot has rolled over for 13 draws in a row after again proving to be out of reach in Tuesday night’s draw. There will be a top prize of €150 million up for grabs on Friday night, but how much longer can it keep growing?

The winning numbers for Tuesday 13th February were 10, 13, 17, 21 and 44, with Lucky Stars 1 and 10. Among the 2.6 million prizes given away throughout Europe, one Irish player was among the four winners who matched five main numbers plus one Lucky Star to pick up €333,913.

EuroMillions Jackpot Cap

EuroMillions has a jackpot cap of €190 million, so there is room for the current top prize to keep building for a few more draws. Once the jackpot reaches €190 million, any money from ticket sales which would normally go to the jackpot are instead diverted to the next tier in which there are winners.

The jackpot can then stay at €190 million for a maximum of five draws. If nobody has matched all five main numbers plus both Lucky Stars in the fifth draw, the full amount rolls down and is split between participants in the next winning tier. This is most likely to be the ‘Match 5+1’ tier, raising the possibility that you could win a multimillion-pound sum without even matching the full winning line.

The jackpot has hit its €190 million cap on three previous occasions, most recently in October 2017. Nobody won in the first capped draw, but a player from Spain matched all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars in the next draw to pocket the full amount.

If the jackpot keeps growing at its expected rate, it may reach its cap on either Tuesday 27th February or the following Friday, but players across Europe will be hoping to bring the top prize toppling down in the next draw.
