EuroMillions Jackpot Winner Bought €38.9 Million Ticket in Dublin

Last Updated: Tuesday 27th September 2022, 09:46 am

EuroMillions players from the Dublin region have been urged to check their numbers after one lucky ticket proved to be worth €38.9 million in Friday night’s draw. It was the final EuroMillions game of 2017, and delivered a third jackpot win of the year to Ireland.

Winning EuroMillions Numbers

The winning numbers were 4, 8, 22, 23 and 48, with Lucky Stars 1 and 12. The player who matched the full winning line now has 90 days to come forward and claim their prize, and Irish National Lottery offices are now back open after the festive break and ready to welcome the winner.

A spokesperson for the lottery said: “We are still processing this fantastic win but we are delighted to confirm the ticket was a quick pick and was purchased in the Dublin region. Full details will follow once we contact the winning store and arrangements are in place.”

The winner has also been advised to keep the ticket safe until they can make contact regarding a claim, and seek independent legal and financial advice over what to do with such an ‘incredible amount of money’.

The lucky player, Ireland’s 12th jackpot winner since EuroMillions was launched in 2004, will have to decide whether to go public with their news or stay anonymous, and then think about how they wish to use their new-found wealth.

Big Winners In 2017

Friday’s result marked a fitting end to a successful year for EuroMillions players in Ireland, with more than €170 million in prize money won across the country. As well as the big jackpot winners and thousands of smaller prizes won in each draw, there were also 31 players in 2017 who landed the top prize of €500,000 in EuroMillions Plus.

If you think the winning feeling will spill over into the New Year, you can bet online for the next big draw or pop along to any authorised retailer. Best of luck!
