EuroMillions Guaranteed To Create Irish Millionaire on Friday 1st June

Last Updated: Tuesday 27th September 2022, 09:52 am

One EuroMillions player in Ireland is guaranteed to become a millionaire on Friday 1st June after it was announced that a special edition of the Ireland Only Raffle will take place to mark the Bank Holiday.

What is the Ireland Only Raffle?

The Ireland Only Raffle is a game which takes place alongside every EuroMillions draw. You are automatically entered when you buy a EuroMillions ticket, and receive a random raffle number for each line you play in the main game.

Ten winning numbers are randomly drawn on the night and the participants with matching tickets all win a prize. In standard draws, the reward for each winner is €5,000.

The Draw on 1st June is Even Better

On Friday 1st June, the ten winning numbers will be entered into a separate draw and one will be chosen at random to receive an extra €1 million. The other nine players will still bank €5,000, but the big winner will become €1,005,000 richer.

There are several special editions of the Ireland Only Raffle throughout the year, giving players an extra chance to win a seven-figure sum. The first special draw took place on Friday 17th February 2017, while the most recent one was held on Friday 16th March this year ahead of St Patrick’s Day.

Don’t Forget To Check Your Numbers

The lucky winner of €1,005,000 in March came forward quickly and shared his plans to spend six months of the year abroad, but he was only able to start celebrating after checking the ticket he had bought at a Costcutter in Windy Arbour in Dundrum, Dublin. Unfortunately, lots of other players miss out on big prizes because they do not come forward within the 90-day claim period.

A ticket holder from Cork is set to see €1 million slip through their fingers this week unless they make contact with Irish National Lottery officials. The player won one of the 25 prizes in the EuroMillionaires Raffle Draw on 23rd February, matching the number I-DKB-06633.

They bought their ticket at the Eason Store in the Wilton Shopping Centre in Cork City on the day of the draw, and the prize will expire at 5.30pm on Thursday 24th May. One final plea has been issued to players to check their tickets.

National Lottery Chief Executive Dermot Griffin said: “”Rummage in your handbags, wallets or purses, check on top of the fridge, the glove compartments of the car, coat pockets, wherever you keep your tickets as somebody has won this prize and it would be a fantastic story if the winner was to find out about their good fortune at the last minute.”

Don’t Miss Out on the Next Draw

The jackpot for the next EuroMillions draw on Friday night stands at €60 million, following a rollover on Tuesday. The top prize was last won on Tuesday 8th May by an Austrian player, who won €45 million, and has been growing again for the past couple of weeks.
