EuroMillions Fans Target €115 Million Jackpot

EuroMillions Fans Target €115 Million Jackpot

Last Updated: Tuesday 27th September 2022, 10:28 am

EuroMillions players across Ireland are preparing themselves for a bumper draw after the  game’s jackpot reached a colossal €115 million. The prize pot has been rolling for ten consecutive draws and hasn’t been touched since a UK ticket holder clinched a sizeable £25.4 million reward in the draw on Friday 3rd November.

A EuroMillions Christmas

With Christmas less than two weeks away, tonight’s mammoth jackpot could not have come at a better time. Irish ticket holders in particular will be eager to prosper and bring home one of the biggest jackpots of the year so far. Since the popular pan-European lottery was launched in the Emerald Isle in October 2004, Irish players have claimed an impressive eleven top prizes, however, countless players will be hoping that figure increases come Wednesday morning.

A win tonight might even be enough to knock Irish lottery legend Dolores McNamara off her perch. The former cleaner from Limerick claimed a jackpot of €115 million in July 2005, the largest prize in European lottery history at the time; however, the Blackpool-born millionaire’s time in the spotlight could be brought to an end tonight.

Of course, lottery lovers will need to overcome the odds if they are to clinch victory. According to statistics, December is the least successful month when it comes to winning the game’s top prize, with just 23 victories to date. The twelfth month is some way behind the likes of August (26) and April (27) and miles behind the overall leader September (40). That said, who doesn’t enjoy a good old Christmas miracle!

A Memorable Year

Despite its gigantic size, this is by no means the largest jackpot of the year. That honour still belongs to a prize of €190 million which was claimed by a Spanish player from Las Palmas in October. In fact, 2017 has proved to be quite a year for huge EuroMillions prizes, with a total of four jackpots now having exceeded the €100 million mark. That is just one shy of the number of nine-figure prizes offered in both 2015 and 2016, proving that this year has certainly been another one to remember for EuroMillions enthusiasts across the continent.
