Dublin Family Syndicate Claims €4.5 Million Irish Lotto Win

Last Updated: Tuesday 27th September 2022, 15:45 pm

A grandmother from Dublin has revealed how the lives of her family members will be transformed after she came forward to collect an Irish Lotto jackpot win. The lucky lady teamed up with her three children in a syndicate last year, and on Saturday 27th May they matched all six main numbers to pocket a fantastic €4.5 million.

The winners bought their ticket at An Post in Upper George’s Street in Dun Laoghaire and could not believe their good fortune when they checked the numbers in the paper after lunch on the following day. The numbers drawn were 2, 5, 12, 34, 41 and 47, with Bonus Ball 29, and the family came to National Lottery headquarters on Wednesday to pick up their cheque.

The four members of the syndicate have yet to share their news with the wider family, and are looking forward to holding a party in the near future where they hand over some of the winnings to the grandchildren. “They are at a stage now where they are starting out in life, so between the four of us we are going to give them a cheque each to get them set up,” said the gran, quoted by the Irish Mirror.

“As for me, I have no great plans apart from doing up my house and taking a holiday later in the year. We are not going to go mad with this win, but it will certainly mean that life will be easier and there will be security for my adult children also. Nobody will retire on this but it will make all our lives more comfortable.”

One of the gran’s children is also excited to be able to search for a new house which would previously have been out of reach, as the whole family now looks forward to a bright future.

Irish National Lottery officials have yet to hear from the Irish Lotto player who won €2 million in County Leitrim on Wednesday 31st May, but they have up to 90 days from the date of the draw to come forward.

The top prize has rolled over twice since then and will now stand at €3 million for Saturday night’s draw. If you want to be in with a chance of winning, you can bet online or visit an authorised retailer in Ireland. Good luck!
