The Monday Million game and the Monday Million Plus game had their final draws on the 10th September 2012 therefore the following page is for informational purposes only. The game that replaced these lottery games was Daily Million and Daily Million Plus, to read more about these Irish Lottery games please click here.
The Monday Million was an Irish Lottery game which, as the name suggests, took place every Monday evening and gave players a chance to win a top prize of €1 million. Monday Million draws were broadcast live on the TV3 channel in Ireland, but of course you didn't need to live in Ireland to play the game or to win – you could purchase Monday Million lottery tickets online.
How to Play Monday Million
Monday Million was a 6 from 39 lottery game, so players needed to select 6 numbers from the range 1 to 39 for every entry they played. When the draw took place, seven numbers were drawn. The first six were the main numbers and the seventh number was a Bonus Number. To win the jackpot, players needed to match all six main numbers, and the odds of doing that were 1 in 3,262,623. Lesser prizes could also be won by matching fewer than six main numbers, with or without the Bonus Number, as follows:
|6 Main Numbers||€1,000,000|
|5 Main Numbers + Bonus||€10,000|
|5 Main Numbers||€500|
|4 Main Numbers + Bonus||€100|
|4 Main Numbers||€25|
|3 Main Numbers + Bonus||€10|
|3 Main Numbers||€3 Scratchcard|
As in the Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2, the Monday Million lottery prizes were fixed in value, so in most cases a player who matched six main numbers would of won €1,000,000 even if other players managed to do the same.
Monday Million Plus
For a small additional fee, Monday Million players could choose to have their Monday Million numbers entered into a Monday Million Plus draw which took place straight after the main draw. Monday Million Plus had the same format as the main Monday Million game, but the prizes to be won weren't quite as big, as you can see from the schedule below:
|6 Main Numbers||€500,000|
|5 Main Numbers + Bonus||€5,000|
|5 Main Numbers||€250|
|4 Main Numbers + Bonus||€50|
|4 Main Numbers||€15|
|3 Main Numbers + Bonus||€5|
|3 Main Numbers||€2 All or Nothing Ticket|
Quick Play and Advanced Play
A Quick Pick option allowed players to enter a randomly generated selection of numbers into the Monday Million (and Monday Million Plus) lottery game if they wished to do so. A player could also choose to enter the same numbers – whether selected by themselves or the Quick Pick feature – for several draws in advance.
